Lisa Nelson on her blog the Innovative Teacher had some interesting tools.I learned how to make a custom badge at says it.
Here's the one I made.
It's for an organization that I work for.
There's so many different ways you can customize the badge, I think it's a cute idea for rewarding students for something..maybe finishing a book..or getting a good grade on a test.
I also like the idea of having students present different news items in front of the class. Here there are different articles at different levels. This is also good for the hetrogeneos classroom teacher.
On the second blog, Edudemic, the author talks about teaching about upcyling old textbooks. This clip can teach students the importance of recyling The Story of Stuff. Maybe the teacher can upsycle textbooks like the blog mentions. Might be cute as a "celebration" of finishing the lasat bagut in 12 grade.
I also liked the idea of blackout poetry. Students take a page from an old textbook and they black out most of the words they don't want to use. With the remaing words they have to write a poem
On the last blog I am following (Free Tech for Teachers), I learnt about Google Earth . I did't download it but is seemed really cool. Today, I was observing a teacher who was giving a lesson about "The Amazing Amazon", I was helping a student answer questions in the workbook and she asked me what a rainforest was. I tried explaining it to her but I think it would have been much more effective had I taken her on a virtual tour of the Amazon.
Hi Atara
השבמחקWe cannot see the barge. The reason is simple
the website states:

The badge is a good idea,(also to write on the left -> right press ctrl+shift on the right side of the keyboard) the badge idea seems really cool. Also the Google earth idea and using Google Earth in the classroom is great. You could have the students use it at home for projects and what not, and really expand their understanding and knowledge of the world. Like for instance although many Israeli's think that New York and Chicago are close to each other because they are both in America, they could see that they really aren't.
השבמחקYou choose interesting topics but I have no idea with a badge is Google earth is very cool but if I didn't know it reading your blog wouldn't help too much understanding it. Also writing right to left in English is very annoying.
השבמחקtell you what i think because I care. I hope that is enough.
